We offer one on one outpatient nutrition counseling that covers nearly any type of nutritional need an individual may have. If you are discharged from the hospital on a therapeutic diet or would benefit from diabetes, weight loss or any other type of nutrition counseling please call give us a call to set up an appointment at 812-537-8163 or 800-676-5572, ext. 8163. A physician referral is not required. Outpatient Nutrition Therapy Dearborn County Hospital's outpatient registered dietitians, Betsy Oriolo, MS, RD, CD, CDE and Paula Rossell, RD, CD, provide nutrition counseling to help individuals take better control of their health. Medical nutrition therapy is available not only for weight loss, but for those with heart disease, diabetes or any other nutrition related condition. In one on one counseling sessions, a personalized meal plan is developed to achieve desired weight, improvement in blood glucose and cholesterol levels. Topics include goal setting, meal planning, label reading, grocery shopping, cooking techniques and fast food/restaurant dining can be addressed in one or more sessions.
