WELL RESPECTED CARDIOLOGIST JOINS DR. ASHOK PENMETSA IN LAWRENCEBURG OFFICE

When describing the numerous achievements of Dr. Frederick Crall, Jr., it’s hard to know where to begin.  Dr. Crall is the new full time partner of Lawrenceburg Cardiologist Dr. Ashok Penmetsa and the latest Cardiologist to join the Dearborn County Hospital Medical Staff.

Starting with his educational background, Dr. Crall graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s Degree from Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut, before coming home to Cincinnati to earn his Medical Degree from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine.  A Medical Internship, Residency in Internal Medicine and Fellowship in Cardiology then followed at Dartmouth – Hitchcock Medical Center, associated with prestigious Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire.

As a Cardiologist practicing in the Cincinnati area in the early 80’s, Dr. Crall was one of the founders of the cardiology practice which is today known as the Ohio Heart & Vascular Center.  In his 18 years at that institution, he helped to recruit and/or worked with many of the most well known Cardiologists in the Tri-state.  Today, he is one of 21 physicians who comprise the prominent cardiology team of Greater Cincinnati Cardiovascular Consultants.

“I am extremely pleased to have Dr. Crall as my partner in the Lawrenceburg office,” stated Dr. Penmetsa.  “Not only is Dr. Crall an excellent clinician, but he has the personality and thoughtful demeanor that will be appreciated by his patients and his physician and hospital colleagues.”

In his more than 30 years of practice as an influential and respected Cardiologist in Cincinnati and Mansfield, Dr. Crall cites his greatest achievement as being his day-to-day work with his patients and his fellow physicians.

“After all my years of training and experience as a Cardiologist, I still think one of my greatest assets is that I am a good listener.  Sometimes the most subtle clues that patients unknowingly pass along in conversation can play a significant role in their diagnosis,” explained Dr. Crall.  “When a physician takes the time to listen intently, they make the patient feel well cared for and secure.  More importantly, the Cardiologist has the opportunity to identify and address any potential problems or patient concerns that could hinder achieving the most favorable outcome.

“My expertise as a Cardiologist comes in managing patients with difficult, unusual or multiple cardiac or related diagnoses.  Through years of caring for my own patients, as well as witnessing the outcomes of numerous other cardiac patients, I feel I have a good understanding of how to best manage these more complex or difficult cases.  In some situations an invasive or surgical intervention is required, however, other patients respond as well, if not better, to a noninvasive therapeutic approach.  My directive as their Cardiologist is to choose a plan of care that will best help to maintain or improve their overall health and quality of life.”

Dr. Crall and Dr. Penmetsa’s office is located in Suite 410 of the Dearborn County Hospital Professional Building at 606 Wilson Creek Road in Lawrenceburg.  New patients are welcome.  For additional information or to schedule an appointment, please call the office at 812-539-4722.
