Dearborn County Hospital has announced the selection
of Angela K. Scudder, RN, MSN, as its new Vice-President
of Patient Care Services. Mrs. Scudder succeeds Carol
Muehlenkamp, RN, MSN, who retired following 22 years of
service in the position.
A long-time resident of Southeastern Indiana, Mrs.
Scudder has a broad base of experience in both bedside
nursing and patient care administration. She was
selected following an extensive search and on-site
interviewing process led by the Nutter Group, a
Cincinnati based executive recruitment firm.
Since coming to Dearborn County Hospital in 1988,
Mrs. Scudder has held several positions of leadership
including Nurse Manager of the Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
from 2000 to 2008 and Nursing Clinical Coordinator from
2008 until her present appointment.
During her tenure as the Nursing Clinical
Coordinator, Mrs. Scudder worked in close association
with hospital administration and the medical staff in
the development, implementation and support of numerous
patient care initiatives including those for
computerized documentation and quality improvement.
“It is a tremendous honor to be chosen to lead our
patient care services team at Dearborn County Hospital,”
commented Mrs. Scudder. “Having worked side-by-side
with many of our nursing staff over the years has
allowed me to see firsthand the dedication, compassion
and commitment they bring to their positions every day.
I not only have great respect for their clinical skills,
but also a sincere appreciation for the outstanding care
and concern they show to our patients.”
Mrs. Scudder received her Diploma of Nursing from
Cincinnati’s Good Samaritan Hospital School of Nursing
followed by her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree
from Indiana Wesleyan University and her Master of
Science in Nursing degree from Ball State University.
She is a member of both the Indiana and American
Organization of Nurse Executives.
