DEARBORN COUNTY HOSPITAL SCHEDULES STROKE SUPPORT GROUP MEETINGS FOR 2010

Dearborn County Hospital’s Speech Therapy Department announced the 2010 schedule for its Stroke Support Group.  The group routinely meets the first Thursday of the month at 6:00 p.m. in the Ohio Room of the hospital.

Dates for this coming year are January 7, February 4, March 4, April 1, May 6, June 3, July 1, August 5, September 2, October 7, November 4 and December 2.

“The goal of the Stroke Support Group is to provide a means for stroke survivors and their caregivers and loved ones to socialize, share experiences and celebrate milestones.  All the meetings are informal and everyone has a chance to participate in the conversation,” explained Angie Knoop, MA, CCC-SLP, Speech/Language Pathologist.

Participants range in age from their early 40s to their late 70s.  The meetings are provided free of charge and light refreshments will be served courtesy of Dearborn County Hospital.
