DCH FOUNDATION AWARDS SCHOLARSHIPS TO 14 HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATES

The Dearborn County Hospital Foundation recently awarded scholarships to 14 area high school seniors.  Recipients of the Foundation’s High School Senior Scholarship Program each received $500. 

Recipients are selected from applicants who have been accepted into degree programs in healthcare fields at accredited colleges and universities for the 2010-2011 school year.  Additional students will be presented with grant/loans later in the summer as part of the Dearborn County Hospital Foundation and Dearborn County Hospital Healthcare Student Grant/Loan Program.

Members of the Dearborn County Hospital Foundation Board of Directors recognized the scholarship recipients at their respective high school awards programs.  Both high school scholarship recipients and healthcare student grant/loan recipients will be recognized at a banquet hosted by the Dearborn County Hospital Foundation at the Dearborn Country Club in July. 

Students from the class of 2010 receiving Dearborn County Hospital Foundation High School Senior Scholarships are:

  • Emily Bare, a graduate of Jac-Cen-Del High School who is enrolled in the nursing program at Indiana University-Purdue University Columbus;
  • Megan Harrell, a graduate of Lawrenceburg High School who will study nursing at the University of Indianapolis;
  • Travis Hawkins, a graduate of Lawrenceburg High School who plans to major in nursing at Ball State University;
  • Melissa Horan, a graduate of Jac-Cen-Del High School who is enrolled in the occupational therapy program at the University of Indianapolis;
  • Baylie Judy, a graduate of Switzerland County High School who is enrolled in the radiologic technology program at the University of Southern Indiana;
  • Cody Marsee, a graduate of Milan High School who is studying physical therapy at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis;
  • Hannah Martin, a graduate of South Dearborn High School who is enrolled in the physical therapy program at Indiana University;
  • Lindsey Morano, a graduate of Rising Sun High School who will study speech/language pathology at Ball State University;
  • Jenifer Patrick, a graduate of South Ripley Junior-Senior High School who is enrolled in the occupational therapy program at the University of Indianapolis;
  • Melinda Rauch, a graduate of Franklin County High School who will major in nursing at the University of Indianapolis;
  • Sara Sandford, a graduate of Lawrenceburg High School who is majoring in nursing at Indiana University;
  • Anna Schulte, a graduate of Oldenburg Academy whose major is nursing at the College of Mount St. Joseph;
  • Jonathan Ward, a graduate of Batesville High School who has enrolled in the               pre-medicine program at Hanover College;
  • Ashley Zengerling, a graduate of East Central High School who will major in nursing at Northern Kentucky University.
