dch
covers baby
contest fees and gate admission at county fair
The Dearborn
County 4-H & Community Fair Baby Contest will be held on Wednesday,
June 23. Registration for the contest is free, thanks to the
Birthing Center of Dearborn County Hospital which is covering the
entry fee for the sixth consecutive year. DCH is also a sponsor of
the fair’s entrance admission for the evening.
The contest
will take place on the fairgrounds’ Free Stage. Registration for
the Baby Contest is scheduled from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. with judging
beginning at 6:30 p.m. Babies up to and including the age of 18
months whose parents live in Dearborn County are eligible to enter.
Contestants must wear a white diaper and white T-shirt or a white “onesie.”
“Dearborn
County Hospital’s Birthing Center takes a great interest in area
events that focus on infants and their families,” explained Jacquie
Adelsperger, R.N., DCH Birthing Center Unit Manager. “We are always
glad to see mothers whose babies were born at DCH. It’s especially
nice to see how much their babies have grown!
“Each year the
fair board and its volunteers put forth a tremendous amount of time
and effort in organizing and overseeing the fair. We are glad that
the DCH Birthing Center can play a part in helping to keep this
tradition alive in Dearborn County for future generations to enjoy,”
she added.
In addition to
sponsoring the gate and contest admission fees, the DCH Birthing
Center presents a savings bond to both the winning Prince and
Princess. Door prize gift baskets will be provided by
Obstetrician/Gynecologists Stephan Kraeling, M.D., Edward Reece, D.O.,
and Cynthia Seffernick, M.D., and Pediatricians Courtney Cańos,
M.D., Alma Maric, M.D., and Elizabeth Reece, M.D., of the Center for
Women & Children in Bright and Lawrenceburg.
“The fair board
thanks Dearborn County Hospital for its annual support of the
contest and sponsorship of the Wednesday night gate admission,”
stated Jan Uhlmansiek, Chairperson of the Baby Contest. “The
efforts of the DCH Birthing Center and the Center for Women &
Children are very much appreciated.”
