Dearborn County Hospital’s next Safe Sitter class
is scheduled for Thursday, December 29, from 8:00 a.m.
to 4:00 p.m. The class is open to boys and girls ages
11 through 13.
Tina
Butt, R.N., DCH Emergency Medical Services/Emergency
Cardiac Care Coordinator, will instruct the future
sitters in the growth, development and safety of young
children. The class stresses how appropriate behavior,
good judgment and planning help make babysitting easier
and safer for both the child and the sitter.
Participants are encouraged to ask questions and enter
into group discussions.
Topics covered during the course include child
development, safety, basic first aid and tips for
success. Participants will also be instructed in infant
and child cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and
age-appropriate choking maneuvers.
The
fee to attend is $40 per person with lunch provided.
Registration is limited to the first 18 paid students.
