The American Society for Healthcare Human
Resources Administration (ASHHRA) has selected Eva Carr for its 2009
Outstanding Chapter Achievement Award. Mrs. Carr is a Human
Resources Specialist at Dearborn County Hospital and is the
Membership Chairperson of the Indiana Society for Healthcare Human
Resources Administration (ISHHRA).
Mrs. Carr, who began her Human Resources
position at Dearborn County Hospital in 2001, joined ISHHRA in
2003. She became the state society’s Membership Chairperson in 2005
and continues to hold that position.
“During my tenure as Membership Chairperson,
our chapter has consistently met our president’s goal of increasing
membership,” Mrs. Carr explained. “In addition, we created a
brochure that our society now includes in recruitment mailings and
also implemented an orientation program for new members.”
Mrs. Carr will be recognized at ASHHRA’s annual
conference in Chicago in November. Her name will be included in the
list of winners published in ASHHRA’s quarterly magazine, HR
Pulse.
In her position as HR Specialist at DCH, Mrs.
Carr recruits new employees and periodically attends offsite job
fairs. She is also responsible for overseeing the hospital’s
grant/loan program and working with high school and college interns.
Over the years, Mrs. Carr has also assisted
with numerous projects and programs for the hospital’s Human
Resources Department including helping to coordinate the children’s
Christmas party. Most recently, she was a co-director of the
hospital’s 50th anniversary variety show.
“We are extremely proud of Eva’s
accomplishments and in her receiving this national recognition. She
does an outstanding job for both DCH and ISHHRA and I am pleased
that she is being honored,” stated Pat Sutton, DCH Director of Human
Resources and Hospital Services.
Mrs. Carr, who received a Bachelor of Arts
Degree in Sociology from Miami University, lives in Hamilton, Ohio,
