CENTER
Welcome to
the Birthing Center at Dearborn County Hospital. Here you will
find seven beautifully appointed Labor, Delivery, Recovery,
Postpartum, Nursery (LDRPN)
suites each with special amenities such as rocking chairs,
mini-refrigerators and comfortable recliner/sleeper chairs.
Attractively decorated ante and postpartum rooms, an indepartment
c-section suite, an inviting family area and an outdoor terrace are
also available at the Center.
Additionally, we
offer a comprehensive childbirth education class
specifically designed to help first time parents become
familiar with the physiological, emotional and physical
changes that occur in a woman’s body during pregnancy.
These classes also offer extremely valuable information on
proper nutrition, exercise and what to expect during the
labor, delivery and the postpartum period. Even more,
it gives expectant parents a chance to get acquainted,
socialize and share ideas and information on everything from
baby names to diapers. Childbirth classes are
scheduled at various times throughout the year.
Sessions are offered one night a week for five weeks or for
a full day on Saturday.
Breast-feeding classes
are another great service offered for new mothers. The
sessions are led by our Registered
Nurses/Certified Lactation Counselors who work in the Birthing
Center which makes for a very comfortable and caring atmosphere
for new moms and babies.
